Because planning a Disneyland vacation can feel overwhelming, I’ve put together a questionnaire that will help guide you (and me) as we put together the perfect vacation. It takes into consideration all the factors you see here and then some to ensure no detail is missed.

Remember: my services are completely free to you when you book. You pay the same price as if you booked on your own, but you get my YEAR of EXPERTISE!

As we begin to think about your Disney Experience, budget is a crucial factor as to what we can accomplish during your trip. I understand that budget can be difficult to measure, especially if you haven’t been to Disneyland before. So, let’s make it easy!

Considering resort accommodations, theme park tickets, food, ground transportation to/from the airport, and travel insurance, what is the maximum you want to spend per person, per night for your Disneyland vacation?

Understanding Your Deposit & Travel Insurance

A Disneyland package (resort and tickets) deposit will be refunded up to 30 days before travel. Within 30 days, your deposit will serve as a cancellation fee. Within 2 days of your check-in, your vacation is non-refundable.

A purchase of tickets only require payment in full and are not refundable. They can be used towards a future date and you will pay the difference if there is a difference in cost.

Other elements of your trip will vary and may or may not be cancellable or refundable.

Because of this, I recommend the purchase of travel insurance. For US-based clients, we use AIG TravelGuard. Canadian clients have options too. Travel Insurance covers various travel-related risks. These plans may include coverage for trip cancellation/interruption, medical emergencies, baggage loss/delay, and more.

Travel Insurance: It is recommended that you purchase travel insurance. For US-based clients, travel insurance is provided through AIG TravelGuard. Canadian clients have options outside of this product. Travel Insurance covers various travel-related risks which may include coverage for trip cancellation or interruption, medical emergencies, baggage loss/delays, and more. Coverage varies by plan you will be sent full details of what is covered when you book.

Park Days

Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, features two theme parks: Disneyland Park (the original Disney park) and Disney California Adventure Park. The resort is known for its iconic attractions, immersive theming, and magical experiences for guests of all ages. Because of this, I recommend at least a 3-day visit to Disneyland to be able to accomplish everything.

Disneyland Park, the original Disney theme park, features classic attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, and It’s a Small World. Explore iconic lands like Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Tomorrowland, and meet beloved Disney characters. Experience the magic and create unforgettable memories at Disneyland Park.

Disney California Adventure Park offers diverse experiences, from Pixar Pier’s vibrant atmosphere and thrilling rides like Incredicoaster to the wonders of Cars Land and the magic of Buena Vista Street. Explore diverse worlds, enjoy delicious food, and create unforgettable memories at this exciting park.

Ticket Type

Disneyland offers 2 ticket types that give different levels of access. Because Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park do not require a bus or other transportation to get between them (they are less than a five minute walk apart), it is recommended that you use Park Hoppers. That said, here are your choices:

Base Ticket: Grants access to one theme park per day.
Park Hopper: Grants access to multiple parks on the same day.

In addition to your ticket type, you can also pre-purchase Lightning Lane services. Disneyland offers three types of Lightning Lane services:

Lightning Lane Multi-Pass:
- What it is: This is the most common option, allowing you to book Lightning Lane entry times for a variety of attractions throughout the day.
- Purchase: Available for purchase when you book your tickets in advance OR in the Disneyland app on the day of your park arrival.
Lightning Lane Single-Pass:
- What it is: This allows you to purchase access to the most popular attractions in each park (like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disneyland and Radiator Springs Racers in Disney California Adventure).
- Purchase: Available for purchase in the Disneyland app on the day of your park visit.
Lightning Lane Premier Pass:
- What it is: This premium pass grants you one-time access to every available Lightning Lane attraction within a single park on a given day.
- Purchase: Available for purchase in the Disneyland app up to two days in advance of your park visit.

Lightning Lane availability varies throughout the day and can sell out. Prices for Lightning Lane services can fluctuate depending on the date and demand. It is for this reason that it is recommended you purchase the multi-pass option when you purchase your tickets.

Rest Days

While it may not seem like it now, planning a rest day in the middle of your Disney trip is always a good idea. This doesn’t count your arrival or departure day. How many rest days would you like to plan in your trip?

Disneyland is in Anaheim, California, about 45 minutes from L.A., where a lot of other fun attractions exists. Los Angeles offers endless entertainment! Special Event Parties

Disneyland hosts various special event parties throughout the year, often with unique themes. These after-hours events feature exclusive entertainment, character meet-and-greets, themed decor, and shorter wait times for rides. Some popular examples include:

Disneyland After Dark: These themed parties celebrate specific decades, holidays (like Halloween or Valentine’s Day), or Star Wars.
Seasonal Celebrations: Disneyland hosts major seasonal events like Halloween Time and Christmas, with special decorations, parades, and shows.

Resort Details

Disneyland Resort offers three unique on-property hotels:

Disneyland Hotel: Classic Disney charm with themed towers (Fantasy, Frontier, Adventure), convenient monorail access to Tomorrowland, and a nostalgic ambiance. Within 10-minute walking distance to both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa: Luxurious Craftsman-style hotel with a strong California vibe, direct access to Disney California Adventure Park, and a relaxing spa. Has its own private entrance to Disney California Adventure
Disney’s Pixar Pier Hotel: Vibrant, Pixar-inspired hotel with a playful atmosphere, close proximity to Disney California Adventure Park, and family-friendly amenities. Has its own private entrance to Disney California Adventure.

There are also dozens of Good Neighbor Hotels, located near the resort, which offer more budget-friendly options with some offering free shuttle transportation and others within walking distance. They may lack early entry and themed experiences, but can still provide a comfortable and convenient stay.

The best choice depends on your budget and priorities. If early entry, immersive theming, and convenience are essential, staying on-property may be worth the extra cost. If budget is a primary concern, a Good Neighbor Hotel can offer a more affordable and still enjoyable experience.

Special Trip Needs

Every trip is different. Disney and our vendor partners offer a variety of services and resources depending on your unique needs. This include:

Disability Access Services: This service supports guests who, due to a developmental disability like autism or similar, are unable to wait in a conventional queue for an extended period. This requires an interview with a cast member beginning at 30 days before your arrival date.
Wheelchairs, Scooters, and Strollers: Our partner, ScooterBug, will drop this rented item off at your resort’s Bell Services area for pick-up by 9am on your arrival day for use for the duration of your stay. They will pick it up by 9am on your departure day. This is completely seamless.
